The Birthday Project
Saturday, November 9, 2013 at 10:34PM I am starting a year long composition project in 2014 that I am calling the Birthday Project. In short I am writing pieces for my performer friends as a way to say thank you for supporting me and my music. My first project is a set of four songs for tenor and piano on texts by William Blake, which I am writng for Christopher Smith, the artistic director of the Boston Metro Opera. My deadline for the pieces in this project are the birthdays of the performers and this one is coming up quick (Jan 1). In order to keep me honest (and dilligent) I will be posting regular updates on the progress of my work. For this first installment I thought I would share the texts I have chosen.
